Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce helped make “memories of a lifetime” for the athlete’s friend Gehrig Dieter and his daughter, Gigi, when they attended the American League Championship Series.
After Gehrig, 31, and daughter Gigi, 3, attended the New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians at Yankee Stadium on Monday, October 14, the former Kansas City Chiefs player took to Instagram to document their time at the game with Taylor, 34, and Travis, 34.
“Yanks win. Memories of a lifetime with Gigi,” Gehrig captioned several photos of himself and Gigi at the game. He also included a photo of himself and his daughter posing with Taylor, as well as another snapshot that showed Gigi sitting on Travis’ lap. The tight end lifted one finger in the air as he smiled with an open mouth, while Gigi donned a more serious expression as she pointed at the camera.
Several fans took to the comments section to gush about how special the evening must have been for the father-daughter duo. “She will never forget that brother. Well done!!!” one person commented, while another chimed in, “Gigi already living my dream life.”
Who Is Your Favorite Collaborator on Taylor Swift’s TTPD?
The couple was previously photographed watching the game from a private box alongside Gehrig, and other friends including comedian Jerrod Carmichael, his boyfriend, Mike, and Patrick Bacon.
Two days after the game, Travis reflected on the experience during the Wednesday, October 16, episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “It was mixed feelings because I was there trying to have some fun with Tay and everybody. All our friends [came],” Travis told brother Jason Kelce. “We had [an] unbelievable crew, with us and hanging with us.”
After noting that he is “a Cleveland kid” that grew up wanting to see his hometown team win a “world series,” Travis admitted it was disappointing to see them lose against the Yankees. Despite the outcome of the game, Travis insisted that the night was fun overall.
“It was fun,” he continued. “Even though the [Guardians] couldn’t pull it off, it was still an exciting, exciting game. And it was cool to see Yankee Stadium because I’ve always wanted to see that thing in person in a playoff game, in a hostile environment, and it didn’t disappoint, man. The Yankees, the fans, the players, everybody involved, man.”
In addition to reflecting on the baseball game, Travis also opened up about what it’s like to go on double dates with A-listers such as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
“At this point you can’t fathom what’s going on, so it’s like a dream,” he said. “You’re not surprised by the next thing that comes into your life or the person who walks through the door.”
He said that it’s been “crazy” and “insane,” adding, “I don’t know how I’ve got to live this silly ass f–king life, but I’m definitely fortunate for sure.”
The podcast was recorded after the couple enjoyed a double date at The Corner Store in SoHo on October 11. Taylor was photographed outside of the restaurant wearing a little black leather miniskirt and a semi-sheer bodysuit, while Travis complimented her look in a navy blue ensemble.
